Growing Something Beautiful

Updated: Jul 18, 2020

I felt the need to share this, particularly for those who are going through tough times.

The past couple of weeks have been emotionally trying for me as certain members of my family are experiencing growth and development in ALL the ways at ALL the ages (physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental). My husband and older daughter have been planning a garden to grow in the back yard for a month or two, and today was the day to finally spread the manure and plant! (The only person excited about this part was my older daughter.)

But, you know, certain events came into play and needs had to be met, and I bet you can guess who ended up doing the dirty work... Me - it was me. 😂

I wasn't grumbly about this because I offered and it was more important to me that the girls spend time with their dad since they both needed and wanted him in this moment. So, as I opened bags of manure, dumped them on the ground, shook it off my feet (gross), and raked and shoveled to spread it around, I had an epiphany.

My role in all of their lives is to promote growth. Yeah, I have to deal with all the "crap" in the process: dumping it all out of the bags and airing it out allows for seeds to be planted, growth to be had, and for a most beautiful harvest in the near future.

For those of you dealing with crap in your life - you are in the process of growing something beautiful. That doesn't make it any more pleasant, but this is reassurance for what all the hard work will bring.

I'm sending you all extra love and light! ☺️ Happy planting!
